Christmas Card Delivery
Secondary pupils, parents and staff will again be organising and delivering Christmas Cards in the isle.
The cost per card will be 30p and money should be posted along with the cards. No change can be given and cheques should be made payable to Whalsay Secondary Trip.
Post boxes will be in the leisure centre, Fernlea care centre, and both school offices from Friday 1st December. Last collection will be Monday 11th December.
This year, the concert will be held on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th December. The performance on Thursday will begin at 7pm and there will be a matinee performance on Friday at 2pm.
The Parent Council will be holding a raffle at both performances and if you would like to donate a prize it would be much appreciated.
The bus will do its usual run on Thursday night to pick up primary pupils on the bus route, to bring to the school for 6.30pm. Please make your own arrangements for pupils to be picked up after both performances, which will last approximately 2 hours.
Tickets are £5 each. Please note that if you are bringing a pre-school child who does not require a seat, i.e. they will be sitting on your lap, then they will not need a ticket. The P5-7 concert will involve pupils moving around the floor, among the audience - we therefore ask that everyone remains seated.
If you would like tickets for the concert, please complete the slip sent home with Primary pupils or contact the Primary Office. Tickets are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
We look forward to seeing you there!
To celebrate Scottish Book Week, there will be a Bookbug session on Friday 1st December at 10.30am in Livister Youth Centre. This is a free story, song and rhyme session for babies, toddlers and pre-school children with their families.
Come and join in some Bookbug FUN!

Book Club leaflets have been distributed to Primary pupils so that you and your child can choose from the latest exciting selection of books.
Go to http://schools.scholastic.co.uk/whalsay to browse the latest books and order online. For every £1 you spend on this month’s Book Club, our school will earn 25p in Scholastic Rewards.
Please place your order online by Thursday 23rd November 2017.
Alternatively, you can fill out the form and return to the school office with cash (correct payment only) or a cheque made out to ‘Shetland Islands Council’ and we will add this to our online order.
PLEASE NOTE: We do NOT accept credit card payments with paper orders as we’ve had a few issues with these in the past.
